President Trump skipped the annual White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday, calling it “boring,” and hosted a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to celebrate his 100th day in office.
“Media outlets like CNN and MSNBC are fake news, and they’re sitting, and they’re wishing, they’re watching, they’re watching, and they would love to be with us tonight. But they’re trapped at the dinner, which will be very, very boring,” he said.
Mr. Trumpmade the announcement that he would not attend the dinner back in February and revealed last week that he would instead hold a rally in Harrisburg at the same time as the dinner.
The president arrived in the Keystone State Saturday afternoon and made an unexpected trip to a local wheelbarrow factory with Vice President Mike Pence.
